Jane Goodman Art at Yellow Cardinal Studio
Jane Goodman resides near Jefferson's Monticello, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Charlottesville, Virginia. Her early career as an actress in New York led to a career in public relations and a senior position at the Federal Aviation Administration in communications from which she retired. She now paints daily outdoors and in her studio--Yellow Cardinal Studio and Gallery and travels with art supplies.
Jane works in a variety of mediums for landscapes and still life, real and imagined, infusing her paintings with direct observation, memory and imagination. She enjoys plein air painting, refining her work in studio. Her abstract work reflects the chaos and quixotic nature of our environment. "Life is a daily improvisation. I experiment with a variety of techniques and that enable me to maintain a fresh approach and to deliver unexpected results", said Jane.
Recently, Jane spent three weeks in residence at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. While there she explored acrylic medium and initiated paintings which led to a solo show of large florals at CoArt gallery. Jane is a member of CoArt Gallery in Staunton, Virginia, a cooperative art space. She is on the walls in Shenandoah valley Art Center, and Cabell Gallery of Virginia, and other galleries. She is part of numerous private collections as well UVA Hospital permanent collection. She welcomes guests to her studio in Charlottesville--just call or text first as she may be outdoors painting..
