Guinigi Tower, Lucca

On recent travels to Italy, I maintained a daily sketchbook of watercolors with pen and ink. This is the most famous tower in Lucca, Italy and is visible throughout the city and especially from the beautiful park above the city, and surrounding the city, The Wall. I walked around the perimeter of this town each day, painting as I went. I love Italy and my affection for the place is evidenced in my treatment of the subject matter. My drawing, marks, lines and brush work are my calligraphy--my signature.
