Montpelier  estate  in Orange, Virginia was home to President Madison and his wife Dolly.  For some decades the estate was owned and lived in by members of the DuPont family.  During the past two decades, the house has been renovated and brought back to its historic roots. At this vast estate, there are horse barns, dependencies and small sheds, walking trails, horse meadows and pastures and the beautiful main house.  Restoration of slave quarters is being done now and there is a "constitutional Study Center" there as well.

If you come to central Virginia, this is a place you must visit.  Down the road some 20 miles is Monticello, former home to Thomas Jefferson.

I love to paint at Montpelier, undisturbed and peaceful in the beautiful landscape which typifies Central Virginia.

The painting is available. Contact me for details.
